Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety disorders including Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety,
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, phobias and Post-Traumatic Stress
Disorder are the most common class of mental illness in the United States,
effecting an estimated 19.1 million people, or 13% of the adult population.
This does not include children and adolescents who suffer from these
disorders in large numbers as well.
While some worry is normal and no one goes through life completely "care
free" excessive worry, anxiety, and stress can wreak havoc on one's life.
Anxiety can make it difficult to sleep, go to work or school, engage in social
activities or even leave the house.
At Windham & Leibovich we strive to assist people dealing with anxiety to
find healthy ways to manage their worry and fear. We employ the techniques
of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and gradual exposure therapy to
confront fear and anxiety while taking great care to assure that our patients
are never asked to do more than they are able to at a given time.
If you are suffering from anxiety or excessive stress and worry, let us help
you get your life back.
